Your Wisdom, Your New Year

A fitting New Year's quote, as well as this one by nature journalist Hal Borland:
"Year's end is neither an end or a beginning but a going on, with all the wisdom that experience can instill in us."
Choose to view the New Year as a new beginning or as a "going on" -- both get at the idea of the oft-renewed recognition that our daily actions and intentions reflectively use past experiences and what is now wisdom, to guide our present and future goals.

With that in mind, a few personal reflections on 2015:
  • Stay away from over-scheduling, but establish a flex-y routine.
  • Take Wally for walks, often (remember, you always feel better afterwards).
  • Really listen to what the kids say & the questions they ask for a daily dose of the funny, endearing, and interesting!
  • Do things for others and your community.
  • Take time for yourself: read, run, breathe, write, play. And, encourage and give space to those you love to do the same.
  • When feeling blues-y, listen to music and go to a yoga class.
  • Keep in mind -- we're all doing the best we can with the tools we have.
  • Change paths if the current one doesn't feel right, and
  • Don't stress about clearly defining your "new" path, but keep moving along it with confidence and increased clarity (recognizing and working through the times you still feel lost).
What did you learn in 2015, that can help guide your today, and maybe others too? Make a list... and feel free to share here with others as an added reminder and incentive.
